Hey! My name is Danielle!
So you want to know a little more about me?
Well I grew up as a farm kid outside of Kyle, SK. I was a total tomboy! I loved working outside, being with all the animals and learning how to run big equipment.
Hard to believe that little tomboy wanted to be a hairstylist? I know!
But the first time I said I wanted to be a hairstylist was when I was about 7 years old, riding in the truck with my Dad. And my career dream never changed from that.
Right out of high school I headed to Moose Jaw where I went to The Academies hair school.
I worked for a couple years at a chain salon in Moose Jaw where I wrote and challenged my Journeyman Exams. By the time I moved to Saskatoon in the fall of 2013 I was a Red Seal Journeyman. I worked at a couple salons in Saskatoon and in the summer of 2018 I took the plunge of being self employed and started chair renting at Trucos Beauty Studio.
In May of 2021 I took the next big step, reaching my career goal and opened my own little studio suite in The Guild Studios!
In total I have been behind the chair for 10 years and a Journeyman for 8 years.
When I’m not behind the chair I’m often channeling my inner adventurer and love to spend lots of time outside, whether it’s just for a walk, or hiking in the mountains! I love camping and going to lots of different campgrounds, but last year my boyfriend and I bought a camper of our own and got a seasonal site at Cabri Regional Park! So if your also a happy camper, we'll have lots in common!
In the last couple years I’ve been bit by the travel bug and have a wanderlust to check out so many new places! If you’re a traveller, you can bet that we will be discussing all the places you’ve been and want to go! I love living vicariously through you!
I’m a podcast junkie and love to listen to them while I’m at the gym, on a big drive or just cleaning around the house. My go to ones typically are true crime and business. And I’m always open to recommendations!
I have a cute little pup named Beesley (Yes, he is named after Pam Beesley from The Office which is my fave show) that I cuddle up next too after the end of a big day at the salon. He’s always entertaining and there is nothing like coming home to a sweet little loveable face like that! You can bet that we’ll be swapping hilarious pet stories while you’re sitting in my chair.
